King Kong

Tongue-in-cheek remake of the classic monster movie, starring Jessica Lange and Jeff Bridges. A 50-foot ape is brought to New York from a remote island - with disastrous results.

Without being a patch on the original, this remake of the 1933 classic is colourful, fun and exciting in parts. Despite Seventies technology, Kong seems less 'real' than before, with an actor in a gorilla suit for most of the shots. But still, stars Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange and Charles Grodin play it for what it's worth and seem to enjoy themselves.
