It should be pointed out that burly Burt Lancaster plays neither of the title roles in this pleasant, slightly spoof action Western. It refers to the two teenage tearaway girls who batten themselves on to his tattered bandit gang in the 1890s, and inspire them to hit the outlaw trail again. The girls are played by Amanda Plummer (daughter of Christopher Plummer and Tammy Grimes) and personable Diane Lane, first noticed in A Little Romance and later to star in The Cotton Club.
