Jay Chandrasekhar
Born: Chicago, USA
A member of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, the director first attracted attention for the police spoof Super Troopers.
After attending Colgate University, Chandrasekhar moved to New York where he performed in the five-man Broken Lizard in comedy clubs.
He made his feature debut in 1996 with the comedy Puddle Cruiser before taking the reins for Super Troopers with Brian Cox.
"A lot of people get the tone wrong in comedy. It's a fine line in how far to push the characters before they become so broad they're just cartoons."
Switching to TV, he directed Arrested Development before returning to the big screen with the horror spoof Club Dread.
In 2005, he made the big screen version of the TV series The Dukes of Hazzard, starring Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville as the good 'ol boys.
