Kiefer Sutherland (TV's 24) is the draw for this straight-to-video thriller and a decent plot adds to the value. After he's forced to retire from the force through ill health, cop Sutherland gets talked into a get-rich-quick scheme involving the purchase of a racehorse by his dodgy half-brother (Anthony LaPaglia). The duo find themselves in deep water when they hire a jockey who's in debt to the local mob boss. The result is fair if predictable entertainment, and quite tense and gripping throughout, though it's a shame about the cop-out ending.
