A light, slight film from The Crow and I, Robot director Alex Proyas, this is a quirky Australian coming-of-age tale about a band of young wannabe rockers in Sydney as they try to follow their dream.

Kick Gurry plays Freddy, ideas man and lead singer, and Maya Stange plays Kate, the girl he loves but who is also the girlfriend of his lead guitarist, Joe (Brett Stiller).

Other colourful characters include Chris Sandrinna as Lucy, the mainly-zonked drummer, and kindly but ineffectual manager Bruno (Russell Dykstra).

Shallow, but visually dynamic, full of heart and, ultimately, rather good fun.
