This Seventies made-for-TV Western is yet another saga featuring the notorious outlaw gangs headed by Jesse James and Cole Younger. As the citizens of Medalia are threatened with mayhem, their marshal, Sam Garrison (Don Murray), hasn't touched a gun in years and has lost his nerve... There is nothing particularly original here, but the telefilm is quite well scripted and you'll spot an early appearance by a 28-year-old Harrison Ford as a character called Carl. Otherwise, it's worth watching for a stalwart cast that includes the excellent Edmond O'Brien, John Hoyt, Harry Dean Stanton and Stuart (The Rockford Files) Margolin. In a smaller role, Shelly Novack commands attention as Pardo, a young gunslinger.
