This British oddity is way too rough round the edges to make the most of its satirical potential. Peter O'Toole enjoys himself as J J Curtis, a TV show host who keeps the news of his cancer quiet and asks novelist Jonathan Stitch (Adrian Lester) to pen his memoirs. Meanwhile, Curtis is locking horns with rival TV star Dave Turner (Aidan Gillen). The script toys with black comedy and melodrama without really succeeding at either. Julia Sawalha and Patrick Malahide co-star.
