Diehl is best known to British audiences as the pill-popping cop called in to hunt down a serial killer in the German thriller Tattoo.

The son of actor Hans Diehl, he went to school in Bavaria and graduated from the Ernst Busch Acting School.

He made his award-winning feature debut in 23 as a computer hacker while still at college and subsequently appeared in Love The Hard way with Adrien Brody.
