This drama is based on the true story of Jerri Nielsen, a doctor who discovered she had breast cancer while working at a South Pole research station.
Susan Sarandon is impeccable as the strong-willed doc who, at the start of the eight-month polar winter, has to teach her colleagues how to give her chemotherapy.
It's heart-warming stuff, but the film could have benefited from more background on Nielsen, and the bookend narration feels too preachy. Aidan Devine and Cynthia Mace co-star.
