Directed by Danny DeVito, who also appears as a shyster agent giving himself the best lines, this is a wonderful, completely barking mad comedy starring Robin Williams, Edward Norton and the sexy Catherine Keener. Williams is a children's TV presenter who loses his job following an FBI sting, Keener is the reluctant TV executive charged with finding a 'clean' replacement, and Norton is Smoochy - a man in a purple rhino suit - whom she reluctantly employs. But the Mob, Irish gangsters (headed by Pam Ferris) and vengeful past TV presenters all want in on the act, and when 'Smoochy' reveals that he's incorruptible, they all want him dead. Full of wacky set pieces, great lines and Williams at his off-the-wall best, this is an at times hilarious view of the cutthroat world of children's TV!
