The less you know about this romantic thriller the better, for its rollercoaster of emotion is best experienced fresh.

At its centre is the relationship between Matthew (Josh Hartnett) and Lisa (Diane Kruger). Once deeply in love, the pair were separated when Lisa vanished without a word two years previously.

Now, a still-obsessed Matthew catches a glimpse of someone who looks just like Lisa in a restaurant - and so begins a twisty-turny semi-flashback tale so intricately plotted that you'll have to hang on every word and action to keep up.

Hartnett and the cast of young actors, Matthew Lillard and Rose Byrne among them, struggle to convince at times, but if you suspend all your disbelief, you'll have a thoroughly enjoyable ride.
