Directed by its writer and star Mike Binder (who was recently in Minority Report with Tom Cruise), this is a charming romantic comedy about a comedy writer, Ben Greene (Binder) who moves to London from the States when he's hired to start writing for a British TV series called Telford Gate. The show stars Carly Matthews-Portland (Mariel Hemingway), a failed American actress who's married to the series' producer (Colin Firth). Carly takes Ben under her wing and decides to set him up with a girlfriend - Fiona (Irène Jacob) a French make-up artist. Of course things aren't that simple as, although Ben and Fiona hit it off, Carly starts getting the hots for Ben and her hubbie has definitely more than a professional interest in Fiona. Typical lighthearted fluff, but a solid cast - that includes Stephen Fry and Jack Dee - makes this enjoyable entertainment.
