Carlos Saldanha

The Oscar-nominated director is best known for his work on the children's cartoons Ice Age and Robots.
It was while studying at New York's School of Visual Arts that he discovered his passion for animation.
He joined the Blue Sky Studios production team in 1993 after finishing his animated short film Time For Love.
Saldanha went to work on Joe's Apartment and was the director of animation for the computer-generated characters in A Secret Wish and the penguin sequence in Fight Club.
After helming award-winning adverts, he co-directed (with Chris Wedge) the his debut feature Ice Age.
He was nominated for an Academy Award for the accompanying short Gone Nutty featuring Ice Age's character Scrat.
In 2005, he re-teamed with Wedge to make the animated cartoon Robots, featuring the voice of Ewan McGregor.
