Alice Krige stars as Joan Collins in this enjoyable account of how the popular 1980s soap was created. At the time ABC wanted to create a rival to the CBS hit drama, Dallas, and so the husband-and-wife team of Esther and Richard Shapiro (Pamela Reed and Ritchie Singer) created the story of another family of wealthy oil magnates, the Carringtons of Denver. Melora Hardin co-stars as Linda Evans and Bartholomew John plays John 'Charlie's Angels' Forsythe in an entertaining piece of nostalgia.
