This revenge drama with fast cars at its centre never really gets into top gear - it does have a decent story, but it runs a little too slowly to maintain the attention.
Dennis Hopper, beautifully cast, plays a grandfather just out of prison after serving over 30 years for armed robbery.
He's burning to settle a score with the man (Fred Ward) who double-crossed him and took custody of his young son (now grown up to be uptight cop Will Patton), and enlists the help of his grandson, an out-for-kicks street racer (Chris Carmack, from The O.C.).
The laboured 'family relationships' drama muddles the tone of the film and slows down the action.
It's an OK time-passer, but just don't expect Too Fast Too Furious.
