Inside Man
A tough detective (Denzel Washington) finds himself in a battle of wits with Clive Owen's super-smooth bank robber when he is called to a crime scene to defuse a tense hostage situation. Director Spike Lee plunders the Seventies for inspiration for this slick heist caper that sees him teasing the audience with a shoal of red herrings.
Very entertaining film in parts. Should not be missed because of the soundtrack alone. Chaiyya Chaiyya Bollywood Joint is probably the best rap in a movie since Gansters Paradise.

Clive Owen excels as the super-smooth bank-robber, Denzil Washington bounces off him really well as the unorthodox detective. A gripping movie with some cleverly shot scenes. Spike Lee at his best.
Dale McVay
A very good film with a well-written script. Clive Owen plays the lead role extremely well. One of Spike Lee's best pieces of work.
Neil Millard
An intelligent thriller with a good splatter of humour. I was impressed with Jodie Foster's hard character portrayal and Clive Owen pulls off the lead role well.

Denzel Washington plays a cop for about the millionth time in his career but this movie gives him a more interesting case to solve than most of his earlier crime films. Spike Lee keeps things tense in a film which is better than recent heist movies like Firewall but still some way short of crime classics like The Usual Suspects.
