A gruelling family drama that will be rather familiar territory to fans of TV movies. Susan Sarandon plays the mother of seven sons, six of whom gather at the family home when the youngest, a Marine, is reported missing in action in the Middle East. As time passes and the various members of the family, including the estranged father, Patrick (Sam Shepard), reminisce over past deeds, old wounds are opened and emotions are dragged through the mire. Sarandon is strong in her central role, but the rest of the cast fail to make their characters believable. It's harmless enough, and at times sweet, but it's all rather dour.
