She starred in classics such as China Seas and His Girl Friday, and her prolific career ended when Russell died of Cancer in 1976.
Her last film was the TV-movie, The Crooked Hearts.
Russell's career began in 1934. Her film debut was in Evelyn Prentice, which led her to an array of roles with MGM.
