Maxine Audley

Audley trained in New York and London, and began appearing on the London stage in 1940 and in films and TV shows from the mid-1950s.
Her screen credits include Sidney Franklin's The Barretts of Wimpole Street, Laurence Olivier's The Prince and the Showgirl, Charlie Chaplin's A King in New York.
Throughout the 60s she appeared in more features including Carol Reed's Our Man in Havana, John Huston's Sinful Davey, and Terrence Fisher's Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed.
Audley was particularly memorable as the heroine's blind mother in Michael Powell's cult classic, Peeping Tom.
She also worked extensively on British radio and was popular on the British stage for over 50 years.
