Gary Busey
Born: 24th June 1944
Where: Texas, USA
Gary began in show business as a drummer, bringing his band Carp to Los Angeles, where they met the Doors and the Byrds and recorded an album.
Later, even after his acting career was underway, he played the drums under the name Teddy Jack Eddy with various artists including Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson.
It was his background in the music business that helped him land the title role in The Buddy Holly Story. His break-out performance as the songwriter-guitarist brought him international stardom and a Best Actor Oscar nomination, paving the way for his career.
Gary made his feature debut in Angels Hard as They Come and acquired a higher profile as Jeff Bridges' brother in The Last American Hero. But it was his A Star Is Born turn that brought him his first wide-spread attention.
Gary enjoyed a solid career during the 80s, appearing in Carny, Barbarosa, D.C. Cab, The Bear, Eye of the Tiger and Lethal Weapon.
Since recovering from his near fatal motorcycle accident in 1988, Gary has worked constantly on screen, appearing in Predator 2, Point Break, The Firm, Under Siege and The Rage.
With the new Millennium Gary continued to be busy with Glory Glory, El Padrino and Ghost Rock.
