A sunken Spanish galleon containing a fortune in gold coins is the underwater lure for opposing teams of scientists and ruthless criminal forces in this action-adventure film set in the Bahamas. Action highlights include a brawl with the local police in Nassau, and an underwater battle with knives and spearguns between the heroes and the villains. The diving instructor and director of action sequences was Paul Stader, who in 38 years in films, has stood-in for many stars, including Cary Grant, Johnny Weissmuller, Robert Ryan and Rock Hudson. The story goes that he once held the hand of Loretta Young while she was suspended 10 storeys above the ground; Miss Young, refusing to use a double, looked him straight in the eye and just said: `Try not to drop me.'
