Rival salvage crews race to plunder the capsized liner Poseidon before it sinks.

Like its predecessor, this disaster epic is very well acted and excitingly shot.

Michael Caine and the perky Sally Field both give their best performances for some time and there are respectable showings from Karl Malden, Shirley Jones and Telly Savalas.

The action is all one would expect from producer-director Irwin Allen, and the film will prove rewarding for adventure fans.
