Janet Leigh

Janet Leigh was truly one of the Hollywood greats, appearing in dozens of high-profile movies.

In her 50 years in the business, she worked alongside several leading actors including Errol Flynn, Gary Cooper, James Stewart, Orson Welles and Judy Garland.

Her daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis, was the product of an 11-year marriage to fellow Hollywood icon Tony Curtis.

Her other major film credits included Little Women (1949), Angels In The Outfield (1951), Scaramouche (1952) and Houdini (1953).

But, of her more than 50 movies, she is best remembered for the 45 minutes that she was on-screen in Psycho.

The 1960 Alfred Hitchcock thriller included the famous shower scene that made the film a classic.

Even though Janet's character was killed off early in the picture, she was nominated for an Oscar and received a Golden Globe.

Her next film was The Manchurian Candidate in 1962 with Frank Sinatra.

In the 1970s she appeared on the small screen in a number of made-for-television movies.
