Christine Baranski

After graduating in drama from Juilliard, New York, in 1974, Christine began her stage career with her Broadway debut in 1980 in Hide and Seek, and found herself working steadily thereafter.
Christine built an extensive theatre career while also making a name for herself in feature films and TV in the 1980s and 90s.
Christine made her feature film debut with a bit part in Soup for One, then played a nymphomaniac in Marshall Brickman's 1983 romantic comedy Lovesick.
Still on the stage, Christine co-starred with Jeremy Irons and Glenn Close on Broadway in Tom Stoppard's comedy The Real Thing. For her efforts, she received he first Tony Award.
She made some noteworthy appearances throughout the 90s, appearing in Addams Family Values as the counsellor who runs a summer camp; The Ref as Kevin Spacey's snooty sister-in-law; and then in the comedy drama, Jeffrey.
Christine is perhaps best-known for her scene-stealing performance as Cybill Shepherd's dagger-tongued, gin-swilling best friend Maryann Thorpe in the sitcom Cybill. Her three-year stint on the show earned her numerous accolades including a 1995 Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
