But he first made his name as an actor in 1982, as the English student at an American high school who's desperate to impress Michelle Pfeiffer in Grease 2.

Following this start to his career, he stayed in the States and made several TV series, including Dynasty and Beverley Hills 90210.

He also made further feature films such as The Boys Next Door (1986) with Charlie Sheen, Dance With Death (1991) with Lisa Kudrow, then Gettysburg (1993), with Tom Berenger and Martin Sheen and also British film Dazzle (1999).
