Jasmine Guy

Not just an actress, Jasmine started off her professional life as a dancer and is also a recording singer.
She made her name as an actress through television work, most notably in The Cosby Show spin-off A Different World.
She has also appeared in such shows as Melrose Place and NYPD Blue.
Throughout her run with A Different World, Jasmine also found time to make some feature films, including Spike Lee's politically charged college comedy/musical School Daze (1988) and she also co-starred with Eddie Murphy in Harlem Nights (1989).
After A Different World finished its run, Jasmine starred in Boy Meets Girl in 1993 and made a few television movies before making a brief appearance in the 1999 Sundance Film Festival prizewinner, Guinevere, with Stephen Rea and Sarah Polley.
Jasmine continues to teach dance to underprivileged kids and also star in stage musicals.
