Gallagher has enjoyed roles as diverse as a cruiser captain in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and the mother of a flatulent schoolboy in Thunderpants.
She made her film debut in Alan Parker's acclaimed The Commitments and has appeared in a variety of films including Mary Reilly, This Year's Love and Divorcing Jack.
High profile roles include Trudi in Pulp Fiction and Millicent in The Most Fertile Man in Ireland.
TV credits include The Fitz, Michael Winterbottom's Island of Strangers and David Kane's Ruffian Hearts.
Recent work includes the Swedish romantic drama Skaggerak and the Irish independent comedy Spin the Bottle.
