Stephen Collins
Born: October 1, 1947

Stephen played the role of Valentine in a Joseph Papp production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park in New York. Joseph Papp had spotted him in a rock musical and decided to give him this role.
Stephen's feature film debut was in All The President's men in 1976 and he continued starring in TV series and movies until 1985 when he returned to feature films with Brewster's Millions opposite Richard Pryor and John candy.
Stephen received wide exposure in Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1979, as the commander whose role is temporarily usurped by Captain Kirk, but all the attention went to the old series' cast and the special effects.
His role in the TV series The Two Mrs. Grenvilles won him an Emmy nomination in 1987.
After a few more TV series and movies, Stephen wrote his first novel in 1994, Eye Contact and four years later had his directorial debut with an episode of TV series 7th Heaven, which he had starred in for some years.
He played opposite Bette Middler in Stella and The First Wives Club but has still never really reached beyond the 'supporting actor' slot.
