Tia Carrere
Born: 2 January 1967
Where: Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
Having being spotted in a grocery store, Tia started off her career in television but moved onto making films in 1988 with her first role as Lani Kepoo in Aloha Summer - an easy story for her - about a bunch of teenagers who meet on the island of Hawaii one summer holiday...
Tia made her name in Wayne's World (1992) as Chinese singer Cassandra Wong for which she did all her own singing.
She was offered a part in Baywatch but turned it down so she could make Wayne's World - an experience she obviously enjoyed because she went back for more a year later with Wayne's World 2.
After Wayne's World she starred in several films alongside Hollywood heavyweights, such as Rising Sun (1993) with Sean Connery, Wesley Snipes and Harvey Keitel and True Lies (1994), with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.
In 1999, she played the lead female role in the British film Merlin: The Return, in which she co-starred with Rik Mayall.
Tia has expanded her CV with voiceover work, most notably being the voice of Nani in Lilo & Stitch (2002) and all things Lilo & Stitch that came after it.
And space has also been made on her CV for a spot of modelling work... as Tia bared all for Playboy magazine in January 2003.
