Andrew Davis
Born: 1947
Where: Chicago, Illinois, USA
The former journalist is probably best known for directing Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones in the big screen version of The Fugitive.
Davis can also be thanked (or blamed) for helping establish Steven Seagal with the action yarn Under Siege.
After working as a TV cameraman and photographer, the action director moved into film where he kicked off as a cameraman, writer and producer.
Davis found his niche as director of Code Of Silence, considered to be Chuck Norris' finest film.
He directed Seagal's successful debut, Above The Law, and teamed up with him again for Under Siege.
He directed the big-screen adaptation of The Fugitive and went on to make Steal Big, Steal Little with Andy Garcia.
The lacklustre Chain Reaction with Keanu Reeves and Morgan Freeman followed before Davis directed the impressive A Perfect Murder with Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Less successful was Arnold Schwarzenegger in Collateral Damage but he received positive notices for the Disney film Holes with Sigourney Weaver.
