John Wayne corralled old friends, family and regular associates to help make this kidnap Western, but it's disappointing. Seventies-style violence is tacked on to a familiar story of a rugged father overcoming hostility from his sons to nail the bad guys, and a mediocre script doesn't help. Maureen O'Hara sets the tone as the wife Wayne left, calling on his help when their grandson is grabbed and held for ransom by raiders.
