Hammer horror meets Robert Louis Stevenson. In this generous adaptation - by noted author and playwright Wolf Mankowitz - of R L S's classic tale of double identity and murder, the colour photography gives a good impression of bright Victorian decadence. Christopher Lee looks distinctly uncomfortable at having to play a straightforward 'good guy' in a horror film, Paul Massie plays the hapless Jekyll and, in a small part, you can spot a young Oliver Reed as a bully.
