Sean McGinley
Born: Donegal, Ireland
The actor has specialised in police and villain roles in a number of notable movies including Michael Collins, The Claim and The General.
He made his feature debut as Father Chris Doran in The Field in 1990 which he followed with Irish films such as Foolds of Fortune and Circle of Friends.
In 1995, Mel Gibson cast him as a Scottish warrior in Braveheart although McGinley was back on the Emerald Isle for Michael Collins and The Disappearance of Finbar.
Subsequent appearances included The Butcher Boy, IRA drama The Informant and the Belfast-set thriller Resurrection Man.
In 1998, he starred opposite Brendan Gleason and Adrian Dunbar in John Boorman's The General about the life of gangster Martin Cahill.
The following year he starred in Ben Hopkins's fantasy debut Simon Magus and landed a support role in the western The Claim.
In 2002 he appeared in Gangs of New York and played a priest in the Catholic drama Conspiracy of Silence.
Recent work includes the thriller Freeze Frame with Lee Evans.
