A sorry affair with Raymond Burr's lumbering litigator Perry Mason relegated to being virtually a guest star. When an obnoxious sports baron is bumped off, the hockey star accused of the killing asks friend and untrained lawyer Ken Malansky (William R Moses) to defend him. He, in turn, looks to his mentor, Perry, to help win the case. It's undemanding entertainment that fails to capture the cut and thrust verbal action of the Mason of old.
