Made at the height of his popularity, this film about a convicted liquor runner sent after a killer is one of Burt Reynolds' better pictures. It uses his engaging 'good ole boy' persona to the full while giving it a hard edge and not depending on it to carry the whole film. The action piles on with lots of fights and fast cars.
