City gal Jean Arthur takes a tour round the West, bumps into rodeo rider John Wayne and falls for his rough and ready ways. A likely tale, both familiar, predictable and easy-going, is made into a tasty one thanks to the jolly lines in the screenplay and the two delicious star turns. Charles Winninger is fun as Wayne's daffy sidekick and so is Phil Silvers as Smiley Lambert. There's a famous quote from this one: 'Women are like socks - you gotta change 'em reg'lar'.
