Australian 'western' with good performances in spectacular locations and starring rugged John Waters as the man seeking a meaning to his life after his wife's death and discovering it in his own backyard. It's an unhurried but colourful and convincing drama with, for a change, minimal violence. The star is best known to British audiences as Barbara Hershey's devious husband in the Singapore-set telemovie 'Passion Flower', screened on TV earlier this year. He also had a major in role 'Breaker Morant', one of Australia's best cinematic exports, a first-rate courtmartial drama.
