Credit the Stryker movies with trying something a little different here. Armed with what seems like half the cast from the Cocoon films, Burt Reynolds unfolds a tale of old fogeys from a retired home who become involved with emerald smugglers in trying to achieve their dream of independence. Smooth professionalism of every kind is displayed by the veterans, from the chubby charm of Maureen Stapleton (as Auntie Sue) to the octogenarian elegance of Douglas Fairbanks Jr.
