We've seen this one before, even though this version plays an interesting variation on a well-worn theme. Facing death, a man launches an ingenious scheme to provide for his wife, involving, in this case, framing himself for an unsolved murder. Naturally, he's miraculously cured, and faces the horrendous task of escaping the fate he's prepared for himself. Nicely nervy performances by George Kennedy, Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson make this a good bet in the suspense stakes.
