A cat-and-mouse crime thriller, high on violence but rather low on suspense. Peter Coyote gives an uncharacteristically leaden performance as the robber chased by a ruthless assassin for his part in the accidental murder of a young girl. He flees from America to England and sanctuary, but he hasn't reckoned on the staying power of his efficient tracker, or the film's clichéd script, both of which hamper his chances of success. Former lighting cameraman Terry Bedford makes his directing debut in a movie that's visually stylish, particularly in the closing carnival sequences, but offers little substance.
