Unusual little film starring Christopher Plummer as an alcoholic conservationist who's desperate to protect the turn-of-the-century Florida Everglades from both real estate developers and poachers - who are determined to snare plume birds in order to take their tail feathers for ladies' hats. Sounds quirky and it is but although subplots tangle up the film, Plummer does well and the cast includes some interesting faces, not least George Voskovec (one of the original 12 Angry Men) and Peter Falk in his film debut.
