A miscast, below average remake of Katharine Hepburn's 1933 hit Morning Glory, this time with Susan Strasberg playing the young actress newly arrived in New York wanting to make it big. Henry Fonda, Christopher Plummer and Herbert Marshall are the three guys who fall for her. Fonda and Marshall look too old but Plummer, in his film debut, is suitably dashing. Director Sidney Lumet manages a strong whiff of the Broadway theatre but Joan Greenwood is oddly cast as the temperamental star Strasberg replaces.
