James Nesbitt
Born: January 15 1965
Where: Coleraine, Northern Ireland
Nesbitt is best known to British audiences for the character of Adam in the long-running television series Cold Feet.
However, he is making increasing appearances on the big screen including the lead role in Peter Cattaneo's Lucky Break and the controversial Bloody Sunday.
Nesbitt made his feature debut in Hear My Song in 1991 and has appeared in a number of movies including Go Now, Jumpers, the James Gang and This is the Sea.
He graduated to higher profile movies including the comedy Waking Ned, Jude opposite Kate Winslet and Michael Winterbottom's well-received Welcome To Sarajevo.
Strangely, he spent his school years completely disinterested in the arts until a teacher encouraged him to take an apprenticeship at the local Riverside Theatre.
This eventually lead him to a drama school in London and roles in TV including Playing The Field, Ballykissangel, Touching Evil and The Young Indiana Chronicles.
He has taken the lead in the TV series Murphy's Law and the crime drama Wall of Silence.
Recent film work has included the Protestant hardman Mad Dog Billy Wilson in The Most Fertile Man in Ireland.
In 2005, he starred in Danny "Trainspotting" Boyle's children's comedy drama Millions with Daisy Donovan.
