Glamour turns out to be less than skin deep in this murder mystery set in the viciously competitive world of cosmetics. Dark-haired, good-looking Martin Sheen, still in the early days of his TV and film career, makes an appearance as a young chemist. Sheen started out in the theatre, but by the end of the Sixties he had moved into TV and films. This Columbo story was made in the same year as Badlands, which established his film reputation. 'Master of Menace' Vincent Price makes a sinister contribution to the chemical concoction as co-star Vera Miles's business rival.
