A typical Republic vehicle for their biggest star, John Wayne, in the Forties: not too bad, with a decent storm sequence at the end, but nothing special. Wayne's a two-fisted lawyer in the old South; co-star Ona Munson, in Hollywood for many years without quite becoming a major name, is now best remembered as Belle Watling in 'Gone With the Wind'. Silent matinee idol Maurice Costello has a small character role. Sharp eyes will also spot Dorothy Dandridge.
