Another of John Wayne's low-budget but this time with a more adult theme, which reflects the Westerns of Randolph Scott a couple of decades later. Reed Howes, an action man of the Thirties who never quite made stardom, makes the most of one of those good/bad characters unique to the world of the Hollywood West. One of numerous 'horse-operas' directed by Robert North Bradbury, himself the father of 'B' western star Bob Steele.
