The climax of this bullet-a-minute TV movie, with a pair of modern-day outlaws holding off a dozen FBI men for what seems like hours, would be unbelievable as a movie script, except that it's all based on fact. Designed as a showcase for TV favourites David Soul ('Starsky and Hutch') and Michael Gross (the father from 'Family Ties'), it tells the story of the bloody lead-up to what has been since dubbed one of the most violent shoot-outs in FBI history. As the bodies pile up and the banks are emptied by the two villains, the film lavishes too much of its time on gruesome and repulsive savagery, leading to a one-sided picture. It has bags of inbuilt tension, but it's brought down by formula writing that throws in too few surprises.
