Another penny-pinching production from the Manchester-based Blakeleys company, who made a mint out of movies featuring northern comics and music hall performers. This, in contrast, is a family drama which wastes no time on things like conviction and characterisation, and stars smooth singer Jess Conrad as a crooner-cum-burglar, living in London's Soho, who manages to seduce a runaway girl and leave her literally holding the baby. The film was sold in its day on the song 'Why Am I Living? ', which Conrad contributes to the soundtrack, but it failed to make the hit parade.
