A classic triangle: Greta Scacchi plays a Cuban refugee who finds love with an American sailor - until her husband is released from political prison in Havana to arrive in Miami as a hero! . It's a good story by Cynthia Cidre, sensitively filmed by the Australian director Gillian Armstrong ('My Brilliant Career') but lacking any real action. Scacchi seems somewhat detached from affairs and Vincent Philip D'Onofrio's role as the sailor seems to have been hacked in the final edit. However, it's a good-looking movie and there's a sumptuous score by Maurice Jarre.
