This is a most excellent science-fiction spoof starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as the ultimate party dudes, Bill and Ted. Here, evil robot versions of the teenagers have been sent back in time from the 27th Century to kill the good Bill and Ted before their rock band, Wyld Stallyns, can win a contest. Bill and Ted are bumped off by their metal doubles, and end up in Hell, where they encounter Devil-Dude and Death-Dude. Their one chance of returning to life and saving the future is to beat the Grim Reaper, who has never lost, at a game. Naturally Death (William Sadler) expects this to be something like chess (a great pun on Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal). But Bill and Ted choose Battleships... Good fun and non-heinous to boot!
